Karanvir Singh : Interpol has issued a Red Corner notice against pro-Khalistan leader Karanvir Singh

Karanvir Singh : International criminal police organization Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice against Karanvir Singh, a member of  banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International, news agency ANI  reported. 

According to an ANI report, Interpol has updated its website with a red corner notice on the Khalistan leader. According to intelligence sources, Singh is believed to be hiding in Pakistan and is a member of Babbar Khalsa International, a pro-Khalistan terrorist group. 

According to the Interpol portal,38-year-old Karanvir Singh has roots in  Kapurthala district of Punjab. Additionally, according to Interpol, Singh is wanted in India for criminal conspiracy, murder, offenses under the Arms Act and Explosives Act, fundraising for terrorist activities, conspiracy and membership of a terrorist  organization.  What is a red corner notification? A Red Corner Notice is a request to  law enforcement agencies of Interpol member states to locate and temporarily detain a person awaiting extradition, extradition or  similar judicial process. 

Earlier, Interpol had sent a red notice to all member states against gangster Himanshu alias Bhau, who is believed to be living abroad. Disclosing the details, the Haryana Police spokesperson said that the Rohtak police managed to get a Red Corner tip-off about the most wanted accused who is allegedly absconding abroad. 

The red-corner of the wanted pro-Khalistan leader comes amid a diplomatic spat between New Delhi and Ottawa after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged India’s involvement in the killing of Sikh separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. India, on the other hand, rejected the allegations, calling them “absurd” and “motivated”. Nijjar, a designated terrorist in India,  was gunned down outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia on June 18.
