Delhi-NCR has been experiencing intermittent light rain and drizzles, providing some relief from the scorching heat. Despite the delayed arrival of the monsoon in northern India, consecutive rainfall has been observed in many states after the cyclonic storm Biparjoy. In this article, we will delve into the current weather conditions, forecast, and other relevant information about the light rain in Delhi-NCR.
Several areas in Delhi-NCR have witnessed light rain accompanied by clouds. This weather pattern is expected to continue, with light showers forecasted for today as well. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may be around 28 degrees Celsius. Rain or thundershowers are also predicted for the 25th and 26th of June, with temperatures expected to stay around 36 degrees Celsius.
The heat and scorching sun have been troubling the residents of the capital. While there was recorded rainfall of 4 mm in Delhi on Tuesday, it did not bring significant relief from the heat. However, the weather department has predicted that Delhi will witness partly cloudy skies and light showers on Wednesday, which may provide some respite from the intense heat. The morning weather has been pleasant, and the delayed appearance of the sun until 7 AM has contributed to a cooler atmosphere.
According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Delhi center, there is hope for some relief from the heat between the 22nd and 26th of June. However, temperatures may still reach up to 40 degrees Celsius. Partially cloudy skies are expected on the 22nd and 23rd of June, with temperatures possibly reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. On the 24th of June, the presence of clouds may result in a maximum temperature of around 38 degrees Celsius.
There are prospects of further relief from the heat on the 25th and 26th of June. Rain or thundershowers are forecasted during these two days, which may lead to a decrease in temperature. The maximum temperature could be around 36 degrees Celsius, providing a much-needed respite from the hot weather conditions.
As for air pollution levels, they are not currently extremely severe in Delhi. On Wednesday morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 97, falling under the moderate category. In the surrounding cities of the NCR region, Faridabad recorded an AQI of 162, Ghaziabad 83, Gurugram 104, Greater Noida 123, Hapur 30, Karnal 78, Meerut 73, and Noida 83, all falling within the AQI category.
