Released on July 21, the film is based on the life of American theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, who led the Manhattan Project during World War II. The film received very positive reviews upon its release and despite being long and kind of a treat, the audience showed immense love. Even now, after almost a month in theaters, the collection refuses to slow down.
Deadline reports that Oppenheimer will reach $718 million at the box office today. That number makes the film Christopher Nolan’s fourth biggest hit, surpassing Interstellar’s $715.75 million worldwide.
