Redmi 12 5G features at a glance :

Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and a 6.8″ display are features of the Redmi 12 5G. Following the Redmi 12 from last month, Xiaomi has just introduced a 5G variant in India. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor powers the Redmi 12 5G, which else resembles its 4G sibling. Aside from the selfie camera, the new phone and the Redmi Note 12R, which is only available in China, are identical.A 6.79″ LCD with a 90 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ quality serves as the centrepiece of the Redmi 12 5G. The Redmi 12 also utilises the 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging capabilities.

However, the camera configuration is different, with a 50 MP primary unit with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera in place of the 8 MP ultrawide camera on the 4G phone. The Redmi 12 5G includes an 8 MP, f/2.0, 1.12 m-pixel front camera. 

The Redmi 12 5G’s design was influenced by crystals and gemstones, and MIUI 14 runs on top of Android 13. The Redmi number series’ first-ever glass back is offered, bringing the thickness down to little under 8.2 mm. Additionally, there is fundamental IP53 protection from splashes of water and dust.

Three colours—Jade Black, Pastel Blue, and Moonstone Silver—are available for the Redmi 12 5G. 

With early-bird discounts, the 4/128 GB version costs INR 10,999 ($133/€120). The cost of the 8/256 GB increases to INR 14,499 ($175/€160) from INR 12,499 ($150/€140) for the 6/128 GB. The Redmi 12 5G will be on sale on Friday, August 4, at 12 PM in India, through the Xiaomi online shop, Amazon, and regional retail partners.
