Tata Nexon Facelift Rear Spy Shot During TVC Shooting – New Color

Must Read

Unlike the current model, the Tata Nexon facelift gets a  performance boost from the 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine.

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the new Nexon facelift. Earlier this week, the front end of the new Nexon was leaked. And now the back of it has been leaked. The TVC  of the new Nexon is currently being shot. From there, the first undisclosed image of the rear of the Nexon SUV has been leaked.

Tata Nexon Facelift rear gear

Seen in a new colour scheme, the rear of the Nexon facelift gets a major makeover. The C-shaped protrusions like the front end are mirrored and pushed to  the edges, giving the impression of a wider SUV. The rear design is significantly sleeker than the cascade design of the previous model.

In keeping with modern design trends, the tail light cluster has been transformed into a full-width LED light strip that diverges towards the edges. A redesigned roof-mounted spoiler creates a subtle wraparound effect that enhances the  overall aesthetics of the SUV. The rear wiper is now neatly hidden under the spoiler, offering a cleaner, more streamlined look reminiscent of the Hyundai Tucson.

The front of the new Nexon

The front hood and  fender have been completely redesigned to match the new split headlight configuration. The hood profile is now  higher and contours are visible at the edges, enhancing its muscular appearance. One of the standout features of the updated Nexon is its new LED Daytime Running Lamp (DRL). This slim LED strip is placed high in the front and rear overlapping elements. DRLs  also provide sequential lighting that blends seamlessly with the slimmer grille. Major changes have also been made to the front bumper.

It looks wider and taller, with prominent C-shaped overhangs that house the headlight cluster and fog lights. This design element adds depth and visual mass to the  front of the SUV, while the trapezoidal bodywork provides a striking contrast with its inky finish. Interestingly, the signature Y-shaped design motifs  of the Nexon have been completely omitted from the front end, giving the SUV a fresh and distinctive look. Superior and inferior quality redefined

The Nexon gets faux leather upholstery on the lower dashboard. The steering wheel is a two-spoke device with an illuminated logo in the centre. The audio and cruise control switches are touch-sensitive and switches that match this new climate control panel. The purple finish looks unique and the updated centre console has a new gear selector  for the DCT unit. Tata may offer the same 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit as the Nexon EV Max. The spy photos also show a new one-piece all-digital instrument cluster.

Engine and gearbox

The 1.5-litre diesel engine has the same performance specifications and transmission options as the current Nexon. The 1.2 litre petrol engine offers up to 4 gearboxes. Tata currently pairs this engine with a 6-speed AMT and MT, but we  have two more options.

These are a 5-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch transmission). Tata offers a 5-speed MT on the base, 6MT or 6AMT on the mid-range and 7DCT or 6MT on the top-end petrol. The turbo petrol engine of the Nexon facelift gets a better tuning with 125 hp. and 225 Nm of torque.
