Vivo Introduces Y32 5G Smartphone With 37-Hour Video Playback Claim and 2TB Expandable Storage

The new Vivo handset combines an 8,000mAh battery with reverse charging, a 50MP rear camera and IP68/IP69 protection. Pricing and market availability have not yet been confirmed.

Smartphone maker Vivo has added another device to its Y-series portfolio with the introduction of the Vivo Y32 5G. Unlike smartphones that primarily focus on camera specifications or processing power, the new model puts considerable emphasis on battery capacity and storage flexibility.

The device features an 8,000mAh battery, which Vivo says can support up to 37 hours of local video playback. It also supports 44W wired charging and reverse charging, giving users the option to power other compatible devices.

The launch also brings a 120Hz LCD display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 mobile platform.

Large Display and Snapdragon Processor

The Vivo Y32 5G comes with a 6.87-inch LCD screen. Its 120Hz refresh rate is intended to deliver a smoother visual experience during scrolling and regular navigation.

For performance, Vivo has selected the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. The processor supports 5G networks and is aimed at the entry-level smartphone segment.

The company has announced a configuration featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Those who need more space can use a microSD card to expand the available storage up to 2TB.

A Focus on Long Battery Life

The 8,000mAh battery is arguably the most distinctive specification of the Vivo Y32 5G.

Vivo’s claimed playback time of up to 37 hours suggests that the handset is designed for users who prefer longer intervals between charging sessions.

Its 44W charging support helps replenish the battery, while reverse charging adds another practical function by allowing the phone to share power with compatible accessories and devices.

Actual battery life will depend on factors such as screen brightness, network conditions, applications and usage patterns.

50MP Main Camera and 8MP Selfie Camera

The smartphone features a dual-camera arrangement at the back. It includes a 50MP primary camera accompanied by a 2MP secondary sensor.

For selfies and video calls, Vivo has included an 8MP front camera.

While the specifications provide an overview of the camera hardware, real-world photography performance will need to be assessed through practical testing.

IP68 and IP69 Ratings, Dual SIM Support

Vivo has also included durability and connectivity features in the Y32 5G. The smartphone carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, indicating protection against dust and specified water exposure conditions.

Other connectivity options include dual SIM functionality, 5G support and Wi-Fi 5. The handset has been shown in two colour variants.

When Will the Vivo Y32 5G Go on Sale?

Although Vivo has unveiled the smartphone and highlighted its key hardware features, the company has not released its official pricing information.

The launch announcement also does not provide a confirmed retail sale date.

With an unusually large battery, expandable storage and a 120Hz screen, the Vivo Y32 5G brings a feature combination that may attract buyers looking for a battery-focused smartphone. Its price will be an important factor in determining how it competes with other budget 5G devices.
