OnePlus Open : In short

•OnePlus Open will be launched in India on October 19.

•The company has finally confirmed the official release date.

•OnePlus Open is likely to introduce foldable phones from Samsung.

OnePlus has finally announced the official release date of its first foldable phone, the OnePlus Open. The device will  debut in India on October 19, so not until next week. The foldable phone market is currently dominated by Samsung, and OnePlus suggests that it wants to disrupt the space to offer users a better user experience. The price is good  and the specifications were already  leaked before the OnePlus Open event. Here are the details.

A few days before the launch, OnePlus claims that users will get fast and smooth performance. The company also says that its foldable phone will also have a light and thin design. Additionally, OnePlus claims that the Open’s screen is crease-free and its camera performance is also said to be good, which we will  know  after testing.

“OnePlus Open redefines the foldable smartphone concept  by offering rich flagship experiences that push the limits of current foldable smartphones and take the  foldable to a new level,” the company said.

Filtered Price in India

If rumours are to be believed, the OnePlus Open could be priced at $1,699 (roughly Rs. 141,490). The price of the device can be similar or lower than the price in  the US market, which  also happened with the OnePlus 11. It will be interesting to see how OnePlus evaluates its first foldable phone and convinces users to buy the Open. Smartphone instead of  Samsung.

OnePlus Open: leaked specifications

Although OnePlus has yet to officially confirm the specifications,  leaks claim that the upcoming foldable phone will have a 7.8-inch screen when unlocked. It supports 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display is said to have a 6.3-inch display with the same refresh rate. That said, the OnePlus Open may not offer a waterproof rating. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Official tests have revealed that a warning slider will also be included. The foldable phone is said to feature a gapless hinge design, which is said to have been developed by both OnePlus and Oppo.
