OnePlus has finally announced the official release date of its first foldable phone, the OnePlus Open. The device will debut in India on October 19, so not until next week. The foldable phone market is currently dominated by Samsung, and OnePlus suggests that it wants to disrupt the space to offer users a better user experience. If rumours are to be believed, the OnePlus Open could be priced at $1,699 (roughly Rs. 141,490). The price of the device can be similar or lower than the price in the US market, which also happened with the OnePlus 11. OnePlus Open: leaked specifications
Although OnePlus has yet to officially confirm the specifications, leaks claim that the upcoming foldable phone will have a 7.8-inch screen when unlocked. It supports 120Hz refresh rate. The cover display is said to have a 6.3-inch display with the same refresh rate. That said, the OnePlus Open may not offer a waterproof rating. It is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. Official tests have revealed that a warning slider will also be included. The foldable phone is said to feature a gapless hinge design, which is said to have been developed by both OnePlus and Oppo.
