Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara: India’s Game-Changing Electric SUV Launched at ₹10.99 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has officially entered the electric vehicle market in India with the launch of the e-Vitara, its first-ever battery electric SUV. Unveiled and priced on February 17, 2026, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara aims to make EV ownership more accessible through an innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. With a starting price of ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) plus a battery usage fee of ₹3.99 per km, this mid-size electric SUV positions itself as a strong contender against rivals like the Hyundai Creta EV, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.

Built on the dedicated HEARTECT-e platform, the e-Vitara combines rugged SUV styling, advanced features, impressive range, and Maruti’s renowned reliability. Manufactured at Suzuki Motor Gujarat’s plant, it will also support exports to over 100 countries.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara Pricing and Variants

The e-Vitara uses the BaaS model, where customers pay a lower upfront vehicle price (excluding the battery) and a per-km battery rental fee. This reduces the initial cost significantly while ensuring battery health and warranty coverage.

  • Introductory BaaS starting price: ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) + ₹3.99/km battery EMI
  • Variants: Delta, Zeta, Alpha (three trims available)
  • Battery options: 49 kWh (approx. 48.8 kWh) and 61 kWh (approx. 61.1 kWh)
  • Bookings are open with an amount of ₹21,000 at NEXA dealerships or online.
  • Deliveries have begun, with introductory offers valid until March 31, 2026.
  • Complimentary 7.4 kW AC wall box charger + installation included.
  • Additional perks: 8-year battery warranty and 60% assured buy-back after 3 years.

Full ex-battery pricing for higher variants goes up to around ₹18-19 lakh in some estimates, but the BaaS model keeps entry accessible.

Battery, Range, and Performance Specs
