Archana Puran Singh Son Aaryamann Sethi Reacts to Samay Raina ‘Nalla’ Joke: “It Was Funny”

Archana Puran Singh Son Aaryamann Sethi Reacts to Samay Raina ‘Nalla’ Joke: “It Was Funny”

Aaryamann Sethi, son of actor and television personality Archana Puran Singh, has finally addressed the discussion surrounding Samay Raina’s jokes about his family on India’s Got Latent 2.

The comedian’s comments about Archana’s sons and husband sparked reactions on social media, with some viewers accusing Samay of going too far. However, Aaryamann has said that his family did not take the jokes personally and believes people were getting offended on their behalf unnecessarily.

Aaryamann Says His Family Was Not Offended

Aaryamann spoke about the controversy on the family’s YouTube channel, Aary Vlogs. He explained that he usually avoids commenting on such online discussions, but decided to speak this time because he genuinely found the joke amusing.

According to Aaryamann, the comments were clearly made in a comedy setting and were not intended to insult anyone.

He also pointed out that since the family frequently shares videos from their home life, Samay’s observation about them spending time at home was part of the joke.

Aaryamann further said that his mother makes a living through comedy and understands the nature of such humour.

“People Are Getting Too Sensitive”

Aaryamann questioned why viewers were becoming more upset than the people who were actually involved in the exchange.

He acknowledged that everyone has different boundaries when it comes to comedy, but maintained that Samay did not intend to hurt him or any member of his family.

The actor’s son also revealed that there is a friendly relationship between his family and Samay Raina. He claimed that Archana and the comedian speak regularly and that he also shares a good equation with Samay.

Archana Puran Singh Also Clears the Air

Archana Puran Singh has herself addressed the comments and said she had no personal issue with the jokes.

The actor was aware of the kind of humour associated with India’s Got Latent before appearing on the show. She therefore did not interpret Samay’s comments as a personal attack.

Archana also compared the situation to her long-running association with Kapil Sharma, who regularly jokes about her during his comedy shows.

According to her, viewers should not feel offended on behalf of her or her family when the people involved in the joke have no problem with it.

She explained that Samay’s intention was simply to create a funny moment during the episode and said she had no regrets about appearing on the show.

What Did Samay Raina Say About Archana’s Family?

The controversy began during an episode of India’s Got Latent 2, when Samay Raina joked about Archana’s family.

He referred to her sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan, as “nalla” while discussing their family vlogs. The comedian also joked that Archana was the only working member of the household.

Archana responded to the jokes in the same spirit and even joined Samay in making fun of her sons.

At one point, she joked that she had previously warned her sons not to sit in the front row because appearing there could result in them becoming the subject of jokes.

Samay then continued the gag by describing the situation as a form of “reverse patriarchy”, pointing out that Archana was the only one working in the family.

Social Media Debate Over the Joke

Clips from the exchange soon circulated online, leading to a debate among viewers.

While some people enjoyed the interaction and considered it typical comedy banter, others felt that jokes involving someone’s family should have limits.

The members of Archana’s family, however, have now made their position clear. Aaryamann and Archana both said they were not offended by Samay’s comments and understood the context in which the jokes were made.

The incident has once again sparked a wider conversation about comedy, personal boundaries and whether audiences sometimes become more offended than the people who are actually the subject of a joke.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of India’s Got Latent is expected to feature Varun Dhawan, Medha Shankr and comedian Sharon Varma.
