Samsung India’s Mobile Business Head Raju Antony Pullan Steps Down After 18-Year Journey

New Delhi, May 1, 2026 — In a significant leadership change at Samsung India, Raju Antony Pullan, Senior Vice President and Head of the company’s mobile business (MX division), has resigned after nearly two decades with the South Korean giant.

Pullan shared the news himself through a LinkedIn post on Thursday, reflecting warmly on his long association with Samsung. “It’s been a fantastic journey of 18 years with Samsung,” he wrote. “I had the opportunity of bringing Galaxy phones to millions of households across India. I’m looking forward to my new assignment and journey.”

He is currently serving his notice period.

Key Role in Samsung’s India Story

Joining Samsung in 2008, Pullan steadily rose through the ranks and played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s smartphone strategy in one of the world’s most competitive markets. He oversaw sales, marketing, and overall operations of Samsung’s Galaxy lineup in India, helping expand its presence from mass-market devices to premium foldables and AI-powered phones.

Sources indicate that Aditya Babbar, currently Vice President and Head of Product Marketing and E-commerce for the MX division, is likely to take on additional responsibilities related to mobile operations following Pullan’s exit.

A Challenging Market Backdrop

Pullan’s departure comes at a time when Samsung is facing stiff competition in India, particularly from aggressive Chinese brands like Xiaomi, Realme, Vivo, and OnePlus in the mid-range and budget segments. While Samsung continues to hold a strong position in the premium smartphone category, it has been battling to regain overall market share in terms of volume.

The company has not yet issued an official statement on the succession plan or the reasons behind the move.

What’s Next?

Industry watchers see this as an important transition for Samsung India’s mobile business as the company pushes ahead with its premiumization strategy, local manufacturing initiatives, and integration of new AI features in its Galaxy devices.

Pullan, who is based in Gurugram, has kept his future plans under wraps for now. His exit adds to the recent churn in senior leadership roles within India’s consumer electronics and smartphone sector.

Samsung India is yet to comment officially on the development.
