Tamil Nadu Set to Sign 97 Investment MoUs Worth Over ₹67,000 Crore at 2026 Conclave

Chennai: The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led Tamil Nadu government is set to sign 97 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 in Chennai on Thursday, August 13.

The investment summit will be the first major investment conclave of the new TVK government and is expected to attract commitments worth more than ₹67,452 crore.

According to a senior government source, the projects are expected to create around 1.06 lakh jobs once they become operational.

The conclave will be chaired by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.

Focus on Jobs and Long-Term Investment

Industries and Investment Promotion Minister S. Keerthana said the government’s approach is focused on building long-term economic growth through partnerships with businesses and investors.

She said the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 reflects the government’s goal of attracting investment, creating quality employment and developing industries that can contribute to the state’s future growth.

The event is expected to bring together investors, corporate leaders and government representatives from India and overseas.

Greenfield Projects to Lead Investments

Government officials said the proposed investments represent a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects, with more than half expected to be greenfield developments.

Several companies are also reportedly planning to enter Tamil Nadu for the first time, indicating growing interest in the state as an investment destination.

The projects are expected to be spread across nearly 20 districts. More than half of them will reportedly be located outside Tamil Nadu’s traditional industrial corridors, potentially helping investment reach newer parts of the state.

Global Companies to Participate

The investment conclave is also expected to have a significant international component, with participating companies headquartered in more than 15 countries.

Tamil Nadu has traditionally attracted investment from major global economies, including Germany, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

The latest proposals could further expand the state’s international business and manufacturing ecosystem.

Key Sectors at Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave

The conclave, themed “Where Vision Becomes Victory,” will showcase investment opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

These include:

  • Manufacturing
  • Technology
  • Electronics
  • Renewable energy
  • Electric and conventional mobility
  • Aerospace
  • Life sciences
  • Global Capability Centres (GCCs)
  • Emerging industries

Beyond MoU signings, the event will feature discussions and interactions between government officials and industry representatives, with the aim of developing future partnerships.

If the proposed projects move from commitments to actual operations, the investments could provide a significant boost to Tamil Nadu’s industrial activity and employment generation.
