These developments happened just a few weeks before Apple’s next event. Although the expected release date of the 15 series is September 12, Apple has not yet  officially confirmed the date.  Apple’s initial forecast to ship more than 80 million iPhone 15 units this year has been revised down to around 77 million units, according to an investment note by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu, reported by 9To5. 

This adjustment responds to supply constraints caused primarily by Sony’s camera sensors, which are an integral part of the phones.
