Asian Games Badminton 2023 : India Player Details, Schedule and Streaming Details

Asian Games Badminton 2023 : The men’s and women’s badminton competitions begin tomorrow, from  September 28 to October 7, and all eyes will be on India’s badminton stars as they share the country’s medals.

Given their unprecedented success recently, expectations are high for the Indian shuttlers to chase the badminton gold at the Asian Games  and return from Hangzhou with their best flight ever. Indian badminton players will start their campaign with the team championships on Thursday. India has won only 10 badminton medals in the history of the Asian Games, including three  singles medals, three men’s bronze medals, two women’s team bronze medals and one medal each in men’s doubles and mixed doubles.

India have not won a medal in the men’s team event since the 1986 series in Seoul, but they have a good chance of doing so this time as they go into the tournament as winners of the Thomas Cup, which will be held in May 2022.  The core of the team remains the same with in-form HS Prannoy, Lakshya Sen and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty  and the Indian team will hope to make their way on the green when they start their  campaign on Thursday. However, this is easier said than done as they  have competition from powers such as China, Korea, Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Asian Game Badminton 2023 : Indian player to watch out for

2021 World Cup silver medalist Kidambi Srikanth was out of form ahead of the Games but will be hoping to  add an Asian Games medal to his locker for the third time after two failed attempts.

PV Sindhu remains in the limelight, but the Hyderabadi has exited tournaments 10 times this season, the best result coming in the Spanish Masters final in April. Sindhu required an incredible feat to win a medal at the 2023 Asian Games  if she can improve on her poor form.  Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly are the next ranked player in the team after Sindhu but it will be difficult to expect Ashmita Chaliha, Anupama Upadhyay and Malvika Bansod to tame  An Se Young, Tai Tzu Ying. or Akane Yamaguchi.

Among others, Dhruv Kapila/MR Arjun, Ashwini Ponnappa/Tanisha Crasto and Rohan Kapoor/Sikki Reddy and Sai Pratheek/Tanisha Crasto are the other couples in the battle in Hangzhou.
