13th National Animal Rights Day (NARD) INDIA

Thousands of Animal Rights activists from around the world came together on the occasion of the 13th National Animal Rights Day on Sunday, June 4, 2023, to commemorate non-human animals (cows, pigs, goats, chickens, fishes, and others) who have and continue to lose their lives to industries that profit from their suffering. The events were held in over 150 major cities worldwide, including Los Angeles, Toronto, London, Paris,, Hong Kong, New York, and more. In India, cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Jabalpur, Jodhpur, Auroville, and others are ever-growing.

Established by the non-profit “Our Planet. Theirs Too” in 2011, National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is annually observed across the globe on the first Sunday of June, while the first NARD was organized in New York City in 2011. 

In Jabalpur, among the esteemed speakers who graced the stage during the event, Miss Jabalpur and Miss Madhya Pradesh, Harsha Datey, took the center stage to passionately read The Declaration of Animal Rights, Divyansh Mehta, a talented singer, moved the audience with a heartfelt performance dedicated to animals. The event also featured several other speakers, including professors, and veterinary doctors.

The event aimed to raise awareness and promote the rights of animals. By coming together and delivering powerful speeches, the participants expressed their commitment to protecting animals and encouraged others to join the cause. The event served as a reminder of the importance of treating animals with kindness and compassion.

The inspiring event advocating for animal rights came to a successful close, engaging the public through outreach and education on animal rights and the environmental impact of animal agriculture. Attendees were served with a delightful food tasting experience. They had the opportunity to enjoy Vegan Tikka Chaap, Vegan Chaas, and Vegan Mango Mousse, demonstrating that delicious and satisfying plant-based alternatives are readily available. The food tasting session aimed to showcase the culinary possibilities of a vegan lifestyle while emphasizing the importance of respecting the rights of animals and preserving the environment.

To support this cause, the event showcased the distribution of Plant Based Treaty Vegan Starter Kits. These kits contain important resources designed by certified nutritionists, providing individuals with the necessary information and guidance to transition towards a vegan diet. The kits cover a wide range of topics, including health, the climate emergency, and ethical considerations, making them valuable tools for those seeking to make sustainable choices.
