NEET PG 2023 Cut off : Contribution to reducing cut off

The United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) has sent a formal notice to the Union Health Minister and the National Medical Council (NMC), asking them to consider lowering the cut-off percentile for NEET PG 2023. The purpose of this change is to facilitate more active participation in the current counseling process so that more  candidates can secure admission to PG courses in Medicine. “Thousands of MBBS passers who appeared in NEET PG 2023 want to join Masters. As per the current eligibility criteria to appear in counselling, the  marks to appear in counseling has not decreased, big not now. PG seats are available,” it says.

“Unless the NBE verifies the reduction of eligibility for continuing counseling, the vacancy will be the same as INACTIVE for prospective degree candidates,” the UDFA president said in an official statement.

In line with the common understanding, the Indian Medical Association (IMA), a major national body representing doctors, wrote a letter to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. In this notification, they  earnestly requested a significant reduction  in  NEET PG 2023 cut-off percentile, up to 30%.

Due to high final grades, aspiring medical students are not only barred from postgraduate studies, but are also forced to travel abroad after graduation to pursue their dream field, further depleting India’s medical workforce. We cannot afford to lose these precious gems at a time when the country needs a full  medical army to protect its citizens,” the IMA said in its official letter.

Currently, there is no official information about the changes in NEET PG removed. The Medical Counseling Commission (MCC) has  provided exclusive updates on the virtual vacancy and  latest seat list for the ongoing NEET PG 2023 Round 3 counselling.
