Xiaomi unveiled the MIX Fold 3 — its newest foldable phone—on August 14. And today we acquired this phone. I thought it might be the most powerful foldable phone to date when I watched the launch. I therefore wanted to share the unboxing with you guys and, by the way, discuss my initial thoughts on it.

When the lid is opened, the MIX Fold 3 is visible; set it aside and examine the accessories.
This is a 67W charger, of course. It’s still unfortunate that this time a better charging power hasn’t been added.
There isn’t much to say about the cord, which is simply USB A to Type C.
The card pin, manual, and warranty card are all located in one black box. The free phone case is the main perk. To hold your phone upright, the case incorporates a stand similar to the MIX Fold 2. But rather than being vegan leather, the material is simply plastic. The MIX Fold 3’s accessories end there.

Fortunately, we were able to obtain the most uncommon MIX Fold 3: Xiaomi claims that it employed the Dragon Scale Fibre Edition, a composite material consisting of ceramic and aramid fibres, on the Fold 3 because it is sufficiently light and more drop-resistant. It has a similar texture to carbon fibre. At least this material seems more appropriate for a flagship phone’s back panel than vegan leather, so it’s a solid effort.
It’s possible that Xiaomi used a similar design for the Fold 3 because it believed the elevated camera module on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra functioned so effectively. Additionally, the hinge has a gold line, similar to the Coachline on a Rolls-Royce, which I find attractive and represents the highest level of craftsmanship. The style, in my opinion, is an upgrade from the MIX Fold 3.
The Fold 3 and the Fold 2 are around the same size. The frame has flattened out, which is the most obvious modification. I used to have trouble unfolding Fold 2 because it kept slipping out of my . But Fold 3 opens without difficulty.
The MIX Fold 3’s camera module has grown, while the device’s weight and thickness have decreased. This recently updated hinge is the cause. This hinge now makes it feasible to unfold and stop the MIX Fold 3 at any angle, even though it is so thin, in addition to making the creases lighter and better protecting the screen. The third generation’s major improvement over the second would be this, in my opinion.
Another area that has seen significant improvements is the camera. This would be the only foldable phone I’ve ever seen with four cameras, making it superior to all others in terms of focal length coverage. While we haven’t taken enough pictures to fully describe its quality to you, we shouldn’t be let down by its specifications.
